On May 7,1950 a beautiful baby girl was born to Jessie Green II and Clydell Williams in a small town called Linden, Texas. They decided to name her Willie Faye. She married Otis Lee Mitchell Sr. at an early age. They both decided to go their separate ways. Otis still resides in Chester,Georgia. Faye accepted Christ at a young age and became a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Linden, Texas. Faye rededicated her life to Christ and became a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Church of Jefferson,Texas. Faye attended and received her formal education from Linden Independent School District. Faye worked a plethora of jobs ranging from the restaurant, healthcare to the childcare Industry. Her mission in life was to help others and her most rewarding deed was raising and working with children. Faye was well-known for her time and effort at University of Kiddie College in Marshall,Texas. Anyone who had the opportunity to know Faye, knew that she had an open heart and an open kitchen. She loved to cook. Faye was a very active and social individual until her health declined. On Friday, May 5, 2023, God called Willie Faye home from a job well done. Faye is preceded in death by her parents Jessie Green II and Clydell Williams Chism, her son Dexter Williams, three brothers Lawrence Williams, Isaac Coverson, Randall Hunter, and a grandson, Donte’ Mitchell. Faye leaves to cherish her memories and legacy four children, Alisia (Robert) Smith of Lancaster, Texas, Otis (Katherine) Mitchell of Longview, Texas, Dexter Mitchell of Iowa, Texas,Sherbrell(Lance) King of Jefferson, Texas, Companion Larry Moore of Jefferson, Texas, three siblings, Bennie (Rose) Green Sr. of DeSoto, Texas, Jessie (Cheryl) Green III of Cedar Hill, Texas, and Olive Lois (Eugene) Turner of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; seven grandchildren JaVonte’ Mitchell, Jamela Smith, Blessing Gwean, Whitney Till, Matthew (Mac) Easley, Davyon Mitchell, Jordon Mitchell,Ma’Kaylin King, Lillianna King JaQuan King and Kyron Durden; two great-grandchildren; Kaden Mitchell and Dacian Easley; and a hosts of special nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving and dedicated relatives and friends
Funeral services for Willie Faye Mitchell, 72, of Jefferson, Texas will be 2:00pm Saturday, May 20, 2023 at the Jefferson Junior High School Auditorium under the direction of Lewis & Walker Funeral Home of Jefferson, Texas.
Faye Mitchell was born May 7, 1950, and transitioned peacefully May 5, 2023, surrounded by beloved friends and family.
Faye was 72 years old.
