William Waites

Mr. William Arthur Waites, age 86 of Jefferson Tx, was born on October 5, 1936, to the beloved Arthur and Mae Lou Waites both of Jefferson Tx. 

Mr. Waites graduated from Central High of Jefferson, TX. Shortly after he joined the United States Army, serving 2 years. He retired from General Motors after 42 years. 

He loved to dress and drive his Cadillac. He was a true die-hard San Francisco 49er’s fan. 

Mr. Waites was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Mae Lou Waites, his youngest brother Norris Waites, two nephews Glenn and Melvin R. Waites Jr, a niece Jacqueline Vinson, and his favorite sister n law Ruth Waites. 

He leaves to mourn one brother Melvin Ray Waites Sr. (Jefferson, TX), one Aunt Deborah Mack (Houston, Tx), three nieces Gloria Jones (Summerville, SC), Evelyn Waites Pruitt (Jefferson Tx), Vickie (Rodney) Carruth (Gainesville Ga), four nephews Michael Smith and Rodney Rose both of (Dallas Tx), Delvin Wilson (Marshall Tx) and Raymond Wilson (Longview Tx), nine great nieces, nine great nephews and special friends Ms. Norma Washington, Mr. Robert Jackson and Ms. Eddie Chaney.

Services for Mr. William Waites, 86, of Jefferson, Texas will be 11:00am Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Belview Baptist Church in Smithland, Texas.  Public visitation will be Friday, December 16, 2022, at Lewis & Walker Funeral Home from 11:00am -5:00pm.  

Mr. Waites was born October5, 1936 and transitioned December 7, 2022, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Jefferson, Texas.

Mr. Waites was 86 years old.
