Services for William Rogers Lockett, 80, of Oak Land California, will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Linden-Kildare High School under the direction of Lewis & Walker Funeral Home of Jefferson, Texas.

William Rogers Lockett of Oakland, California, peacefully departed this life on March 27, 2026. Born on March 20, 1946, in Kildare, Texas, William was the son of Flem Lockett, Sr. and Mable Franklin Lockett.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Edward Lockett, Cleon Lockett, Joe Lockett, and Vernon Lockett; and his sisters, Louise Hines, Ozell Lockett, Sarah Lockett, and Frances Lockett Willis.

William leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his wife, Serita Lockett; his daughter, Shurron Lockett of Dallas, Texas; his goddaughters, Jessica Daniels, Jaslyn Hines, and Kayla White; his brother, Flem Lockett, Jr. (Mary) of Lodi, Texas; his stepchildren, Janelle LaChaux, Janie LaChaux, Marcel LaChaux, and Antonio Gomez; nine step-grandchildren; his special friend, Janice Sumier; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and dear friends.

William was a man who loved people and enjoyed bringing them together. He was especially known for his gift for frying turkeys, a talent that brought smiles and good memories to many. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
