Tonishea Lynn Thomas

Tonishea Lynn Thomas was the second child born to Linda Ruth Thomas and Samuel Walker, Jr. on April 17, 1982 in Jefferson, Texas.  Her father, grandmothers; Lillie Mae Thomas and Melba Walker and Grandfather Samuel Walker, Sr. all preceded her in death.

Toni (as she was affectionately) called by family and friends grew up in Jefferson and attended school in the Jefferson Independent School District.  She graduated from Jefferson High School in 2000, and went on to further her education becoming a PCT.  Besides being fully employed; she was a remarkable mother.  She also found time to be a caregiver for her mom.

Toni confessed Christ at the age of 8 years old and was baptized by her cousin, the Reverend Dr. W. C. Yancy in 1990 at New Hope Bible Church in LaMarque, Texas. The family moved to Dallas and reunited with New Beginnings @ Mt. View Community Church under the pastor of Reverend Homer L. Thomas. When the family returned to Jefferson, they re-established their membership with Cypress and later joined True Light Ministries where she remained a loyal member until her death.  She departed this life on Monday August 16th at Memorial Hermann Southwest, Houston, Texas.

She leaves to cherish her memories three beautiful children: Takayla, Kirkland (Lyndon) and Jordyn; her mother Linda R. Perry and step-father George Perry, brother Adrian (Shaneka) Thomas all of Longview; Sisters: Shemetric (Lester) Williams, Samtisha (Eddie) Searcy, Kenisha Jackson all of Hughes Spring, Texas, Chevon Stevens, Ore City, Texas and Shannon Smith of Daingerfield, Texas.; Aunts: Bettie (Bennie S) Gipson of Houston, Bennie J. Barnett of Jefferson, Felicia (Clarence) Williams, Dallas, Texas and Essie T. Johnson, San Antonio, Texas.  Uncles: A. C (Joann) Thomas, San Antonio, Texas, Roderick (Lynn) Wilson, Houston, Texas,  Kenneth (Lucy) Walker, Longview, Texas; Melvin Walker, Raymond Walker and Darryl Walker all of Diana, Texas, Dan Thomas, Houston, Texas. In addition, she leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews and one great niece and nephew and a host of cousins and friends. 

Funeral Services for Tonishea Lynn Thomas, 39, of Jefferson, Texas will be Friday, August 27, 2021 at in Marshall, Texas at the Texas Louisiana Baptist Association Building at 11:00 am under the direction of Lewis & Walker Funeral Home.

Internment will follow at Cypress Chapel Cemetery in Jefferson, Texas. 

Public Viewing will be at the Lewis & Walker Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 11:00am - 5:00pm
