Tamika was born July 9, 1979, in Dallas, Tx to the
parentage of Angela Tarpley Ellis and Gilbert Yarborough.
She accepted Christ at the age of 11 and was baptized at a
baptist church. She attended DISD. She moved to Jefferson
in 2014 and later became a CNA. She enjoyed being around
her family and friends.
Tamika is preceded in death by: her grandmother, Anna
Lois Campbell; her great-grandmother, Annie Mary Carter;
great-grandfathers Eddie B. Carter and Johnnie Tarpley.
She leaves to cherish her memory: one son, Jerrell
Tarpley (Caitlyn Moten); and one daughter, Jaquele Tarpley,
all of Dallas, TX; two very special grandkids, Jamir Tarpley
and Telayah Tarpley; one sister, Tameshia Tarpley (Jimmy
Timmons) and her children, Braylon Linnear, Semad Jackson,
Quintahvia Jackson, and Irionne Jackson, all of Dallas, TX;
one brother, Courtney Tarpley and his children, Branta-
vion Tarpley, and Aniya Burkins, all of Dallas, TX, her
parents: mother, Angela Tarpley Ellis and bonus dad, Alfred
Ellis, of Jefferson, TX; father, Gilbert Yarborough; aunt,
Joanne Smith (Roland); uncles, Ronnie Jackson, Willie
Price (Stephanie), Kevin Tarpley (Alicia); special friends,
Monique Waites, Nadia Norris, Felicity Mitchell,
Sygunda Cooksie, Ty Zachery, and Kelvin Brown; and a
host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services for Tamika Nicole Tarpley, 44, of Jefferson, Texas will be 2:00pm Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Lewis & Walker Funeral Home and burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Jefferson.
