It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sabrina McAfee, a devoted school bus driver and cherished member of our community, who departed this life on June 6, 2025, at the age of 66.
Born on January 28, 1959 in New York, New York, Sabrina dedicated their life to safely transporting generations of children to and from school with care, patience, and a bright smile that welcomed every student aboard. For years, she served the Marshall School District with unwavering dedication, ensuring every child began and ended their school day in a safe and nurturing environment.
Known for her warm spirit, cheerful greetings, and genuine love for children, Sabrina was more than a driver she was a friend, protector, and a consistent presence in the lives of countless families. Whether it was remembering each child’s birthday, offering a kind word on a tough day, or waiting patiently with students in the rain, Sabrina exemplified kindness in every mile driven.
She later worked at Tyson Foods until she retired.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Anna Lee Washington; father, Clinton Williams; mother, Emma Smith; son, Nakia Taishon McAfee; brother, Joseph Williams; and sister, Alice Williams.
Outside of work, Sabrina enjoyed [hobbies, volunteer work, church involvement, etc…], and was a loving mother, friend, and sibling, always putting others before herself.
Sabrina is survived by her sons, Kemeyanne and Jemill McAfee; bonus children, Debrah McAfee, Kerry McAfee, and William McAfee; sisters, Shirley Warren and Venetta Williams; brothers, Cecil Williams and Donald Williams; her best friend, Cheryl Pradhan, two special nieces; Tohoura Johnson and Tenya Jackson, six grandchildren and a host of former students, coworkers, and community members who will deeply miss her presence and joyful heart.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 28, 2025 at 11:00am at Antioch Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Rose Hill Gardens Cemetery. Public visitation will be June 27, 2025 at Lewis & Walker Funeral Home from 11:00am until 5:00pm.
Though Sabrina may have taken their final route, the impact left on the hearts of those who knew her will continue to ride on forever.
