Jerry Miles Jr. was born in Kildare, TX on September 6, 1948 to the late Jerry Miles Sr. and Lorine Miles. He was one of eight children. He accepted Christ at a young age, was baptized and a faithful member of New Zion CME church.
Jerry was a proud graduate of Fairview High School in Linden, TX, Class of 1967. He briefly ventured to Fort Worth before returning to Kildare, where he established his family. He and his late wife, Annie Louise Miles shared two children, Chauncey Miles and Carmen Davis. Jerry built a career at Lone Star Steel in Lone Star, TX and was a dedicated member of the United Steelworkers of America. Jerry exemplified hard work, showing up every day with pride and dedication.
In 1987, Jerry answered a higher calling into ministry. For 27 years, he faithfully served as a pastor in the CME Church, leading congregations across the local area. Rev. Miles was a dynamic preacher and ministry catalyst, known to breathe new life into the churches he pastored. His ministry touched countless lives and strengthened communities. In 2010 Rev. Miles completed his assignment and retired from the ministry at his home church, New Zion CME church in Kildare.
Rev. Miles passed away in his home on December 17th. He has gone on to join his wife, Annie Lousie Miles; his parents, Jerry Miles Sr. and Lorine Miles; brothers, Robert Miles, Earnest Malone Sr; and sister, Christine Calyen.
He leaves behind his son, Chauncey Miles; daughter, Carmen Davis; Son in Love, Montrail Davis and grandchildren, Chauncett Miles, Andrew Davis & Asher Davis; sisters Dorothy Chambers, Ellawese Bestman, Gloria Roquemore; brother, James Hammic and a many nephews & nieces, family and friends.
Funeral Services for Rev. Jerry Miles, Jr., 76, of Kildare, Texas will be 12:00pm Saturday, December 28, 2024, at New Zion CME in Kildare, Texas and burial will follow at Galloway Cemetery in Kildare, Texas.
Rev. Miles was born September 6, 1948, and transitioned peacefully at his home December 17, 2024.
Rev. Miles was 76 years old.
