Paul Newman Butler

Memorial Services for Mr. Paul Newman Butler will be held Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 2:00pm at the Jefferson Visitation Center located at 305 E Austin Street Jefferson, Texas 75657

Mr. Paul Newman Butler was born October 6, 1965 to the late Newman and Geraldine Butler.

He received his education within the Jefferson Independent School District and was a member of 1984 class at Jefferson High School, during which time he developed his passion for football. That passion and his performance made him a household name with any mention of East Texas football. He went on to play football at Kilgore Junior college and Henderson State.

On December 21, 2000, he united in marriage to Felicia Lynette Harris, his lifelong love. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one niece and one nephew.

Paul Butler was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Jefferson, Texas until his homegoing. 

His legacy lives on through his four daughters: Keishondalyn Bryant, MyEsha Dowell, DyEsha Dowell, Jessica Brasher; two sons, Marcus Millard and Kameron (Benita) Dowell; seven grandchildren, Daylon, Nathan, Brianna, Caison, Trinity, Sahniyah and Markayla;  three sisters, DiAnne Hodge, Bonita (Justin) Alexander, Luel Booker-Jones; dear friends Billy Jackson, Jimmy Cannon  and Reba Davis; and a host of loving family and friends.

The Family is asking those that want to send flowers to avoid sending sprays and arrangements but rather send plants that can be planted later at the gravesite. 

In lieu of sending flowers the family request that you make a donation to the Crohn's Foundation or to the Jefferson High School Football Team in his honor.
