Reflection of Life of a Young King
MonTavea DeShawn Turner, affectionately known as “Ta,” was born on March 28, 1986, the first child of Rosyln Nicole Turner and the late Richard E. Smith, also known as “Speedy.” MonTavea began his education at Linden-Kildare and later moved to Dallas, TX, where he completed his education at Bryan Adams High School Leadership Academy.
MonTavea was employed at FedEx as a forklift driver and was later promoted to a supervisor position. He accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church, where he sang in the Cass County Community Choir.
MonTavea was a devoted husband and father. He met the love of his life, Constance, in 2004, and the two were married on July 9, 2018. On March 2, 2026, our beloved King gained his wings.
MonTavea was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary Diane Epps-Turner and Larry Turner; his great-uncle, Alvin “Tina” Epps; his great-aunt, Lottie Epps; and his cousins, Darnell Patterson and Jessica Epps.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife, Constance of Dallas, TX; his mother, Rosyln of Crowley, TX; his two sons, Brayden and Isaiah of Linden, TX; his four daughters, Tariah of Linden, TX, and Zariah, Makenzie, and Taylor of Dallas, TX; his sister, Storee, and brother, Martel, both of Crowley, TX; his uncle, Tarwin (Tina) of Houston, TX; his aunt, LaToya Turner of Crowley, TX; his beloved cousins, Tahj and Kiara Turner of Beaumont, TX; his great-uncle, Alfred Wayne Epps (Kathy) of Dallas, TX; his great-aunts, Jackie of Oakland, CA, and Carolyn and Brenda of Linden, TX; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Services for MonTavea "Ta" Turner, 39, of Crowley, Texas will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Lewis & Walker Funeral Home, and burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Linden, Texas.
Ta was born March 28, 1986 in Dallas, Texas and he transitioned March 2, 2026 in Crowley, Texas.
ManTavea was 39 years old.
