Mary Alice (Reed) Hillman

Services for Mary Alice Hillman, 66, of Jefferson, Texas will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 4, 2025, at Lewis & Walker Funeral Home.

Mary Alice Hillman, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully departed this life on September 19, 2025. She was born on January 8, 1959, to the late John Wesley and Lovie Reed.

Mary Alice accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where she found joy and strength in her faith and her church family.

She worked diligently throughout her life, sharing her gifts of service and hospitality. She was employed with Magnolia Manor and also shared her love for cooking with many, leaving behind warm memories of her meals and her kindness.

Mary Alice was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lovie Reed, and her siblings: Lillie Mitchell, John Reed Jr., Nellie Cashmere, Mary Benton, and Sammy Reed.

She leaves to cherish her memory two devoted children, Willie Gerome Coverson and Robbie Denell Speed; and six precious grandchildren: Patricia Speed, Patrick Speed, Rodrick Coverson, Tynan Coverson, Willie Gerome Coverson Jr., and Madison Coverson. Her love and legacy will also live on through her siblings, Johnnie Reed, David Reed, and Sheila Reed, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
