Lynwood Robert Johnson was born November 8, 1929 to Jessie Johnson and Lucile Buchanan in Harrison County, Texas. He went to be with the Lord on October 28, 2023.
Lynwood wed Sara June Hawkins on September 9, 1953 in Jefferson, Texas. To this union, five children were born.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara June Hawkins Johnson; and daughter, Lolita Lynn O’Connell.

Lynwood is survived by his children, Lynwood Robert Johnson, II, Nona Maria Johnson, Leonard Damus Johnson, and Laurence David Johnson; grandchildren, Lynwood Robert Johnson, III, Ashley Lynae Johnson-Herring, Matthew Tyler Johnson, Jonathan Ray Pollard, Jessica Raelle Pollard, Taylor Ane O’Connell, Tayana Marie Billante, LaFrance Derrell Johnson, Kacia Voshon Johnson, Shaquille Grant, Siarra Johnson Peterson, LaDavion T. Johnson; and a host of extended family and friends.

Services for Lynwood Johnson, Sr., 93, of Jefferson, Texas will be held 11:00am, Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Jefferson Junior High School Auditorium under the direction of Lewis & Walker Funeral Home.

Lynwood was born November 8, 1929 and transitioned October 28, 2023 in Longview, Texas.

Mr. Johnson was 93 years old.
