Larry Lee Allen was born on Tuesday, October 12, 1948, to the late Vance and
Mildred Allen.
He passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025. He was the youngest of six siblings and
a beloved father and doting grandfather.
Larry dedicated his life to serving others, both in his career as a former Sheriff’s
Deputy and through his volunteer work at the local food pantry. He faced life’s
challenges with resilience, even surviving a major chemical explosion, a testament to
his strength and perseverance.
Beyond his service and bravery, Larry was a culinary genius. His legendary
tender ribs, brisket, smoked pig feet, and flavorful pot of greens became the
foundation of Circle L Barbecue, a beloved establishment that brought people
together through food and fellowship.
Above all, Larry emphasized the importance of faith and family. He believed
that nothing in life mattered more than our relationship with God and our loved ones.
He dedicated his life to the Lord, and as a testament to his faith served his church
throughout his years in various capacities.
Larry was deeply loved and is survived by his children LaRoderick Allen(Atlanta,
TX), Aundrell Allen and wife, Marquetta Allen (Plano, TX), Aundrea Allen and wife
Tolesia Allen (Mesquite, TX), Cecelia Sasser (Texarkana, TX) and Larry Bymbo Allen
and wife Tressa Allen (Kildare, TX). His “special sons” Kenneth Homer, Edward Homer,
Freddie Spignor & Marcus Sasser. His grandchildren Cory Phillips, Tiffany Stiger,
Nicholas Stiger, Brittany Tatum, Markeisha Jones, Michael J. Allen, Lashonta
Simmons, Anthony (Kyla) Hurndon, Taboria Hurndon, LaQution Hurndon, LaKresha
(Charles) Lockett, Rachel Miller, Dominant Betts, Tyshekah Webster, Bry’Lynn Allen and
Kayden Allen. His memory will also continue to be honored by his last living sibling
Betty Body (Oklahoma, OK). His great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of
other relatives and friends will cherish his memory. His legacy of love, service, and
faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply
missed but forever remembered.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Linden-Kildare High School in Linden, Texas. Following the service, Larry will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Linden, Texas. The repast will take place at the Kildare Community Center.
A public visitation will be held at Lewis & Walker Funeral Home.
Larry’s presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
