Karen Deniece Harper was born July 11, 1955 to the late Ennis and Clara McAlister in Jefferson, Texas.
Karen graduated from Jefferson High School in 1973. After high school, she attended East Texas Baptist College. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witness in 1977 and she was devoted and faithful until her health failed. She was loved by everyone, and all of the neighborhood children affectionately called her mom. Her favorite singer was Michael Jackson. She loved to sing and play badminton and volleyball.
Karen was proceeded in death by both of her parents, Ennis and Clara McAlister; one brother: Danny K. McAlister and one sister: Dianne Hatch.
She leaves to cherish her memories, one son: Michael A. McAlister (Temeika) and two daughters: Robin D. Harper and Alexis D. Harper; brothers: Ennis C. McAlister, Jr., Paul L. McAlister, Rodney K. McAlister, and Fred McAlister, and one sister Maymie L. Anderson. Karen also leaves eleven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild along with several nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Karen Harper, 66, of Dallas, Texas will be 11:00am Monday, July 11, 2022 at the Kellyville Community Center and burial will follow at Whitaker Memorial Cemetery in Lodi, Texas. A memorial has been set for 6:00pm until 7:00pm Friday, July 8, 2022 at Memorial Missionary Baptist Church 2312 J.B. Jackson Dallas, Texas 75215. The family hour and public visitation will be 2:00pm until 3:00pm Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Lewis & Walker Funeral Home.
Karen was born July 11, 1955 and transitioned June 27, 2022.
Ms. Harper was 66 years old.
