Mr. Moore was born November 16, 1954, and transitioned April 2, 2025, in Longview, Texas at Longview Regional Medical Center.
Moore was born on November 16, 1954 to the union of Robet Moore Jr and Clytie Charles Moore in Jefferson, Texas. He was educated in the Jefferson School System graduating in 1973. He was an active athlete in football and track and field. He attended Prairie View A&M University and later attended Kilgore College and Panola College where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Jerry was an active member of Phi Theta Kappa. He gave his life to Christ as a young adult and was a devoted Christian. He was a faithful member of Paradise AME Church until their disbandment in 2020. Jerry joined the military shortly after leaving college, enlisting in the Navy. He traveled the world for 30 years serving his country.
He met Colleen Taylor while serving in the military and later married. To this union no children were born. He held various jobs after retirement: Tyson Foods as a Supervisor, G-Force Security and Walmart in various capacities. He retired May 1, 2004. Jerry was an avid conversationalist when it came to religion, sports and politics. He enjoyed fast cars, boxing, motorcycles and aspired to be a guitarist. He would spend hours assembling model cars as a pass time along with short story writing. He was preceded in death by his Father, Robert Moore Jr., his Mother, Clytie Charles Moore and his Brother Calvin Moore. He leaves to cherish 3 sisters, Gertrude Thomas (Willie) in Dallas, Texas, Carolyn Moore in Jefferson, Texas and Betty Wilson (Jeffrey) In Oklahoma City. Nephews Romeo Jefferson and Kristaffer Wilson. Nieces Kristie Wilson and Harmony Jefferson. And a host of cousins and close friends. We would also like to acknowledge a special friend Mildred Alcon in Marshall, Texas.
