Mrs. Jennie V. Spencer age 85 earned her wings on Tuesday September 1, 2020. Jennie was born on July 3, 1935 to the late Glover and Kattie Mae Butler in Lodi, TX. At an early age, she accepted Christ and was baptized at Lewis Chapel United Methodist Church. Jennie was a willing vessel for Lewis Chapel United Methodist church and later continued to attend at St. Paul United Methodist Church until her health started to decline. Mrs. Jennie was affectionately known at Momma Jennie. She served as a superwoman to her children, role model to many women in the community, and mother figure to anyone who met her.
Jennie attended elementary school at Lewis Chapel and graduated from the Cass County School District. After 30 years of dedicated service, she retired from Thiokol Ammunition plant in Karnack, TX. Jennie enjoyed supporting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in various activities. In her leisure time, she enjoyed fishing, solving crossword puzzles, playing dominoes, fixing things, and crocheting blankets.
In June of 1969, Jennie married Mack Jordan Jr. To this union two children were born. In 2003, she married Odell Spencer. She was preceded in death by parents Glover and Kattie Mae Butler, husband Odell Spencer, daughter Claudean (BaBa) English, brother Clyde Butler, two sisters Claudia Hines and Dorothy Hall.
Those left to cherish her memory are children: Gwendolyn J Jordan, Mack L Jordan, 9 grandchildren: Jacqueline English, DeTago English Sr (Shameeka), Shandolyn English-Melton (Taibias), Jennifer Johnson (Joel), Joshua Jordan, Tabias Jordan (Yottis), Mackenzie Jordan, Nathan Butler-Bryant, and Cooper Mauldin 10 great grandchildren: DeTasia, Tynia, Detago Jr., Akelan, Denija, Michael Rashad, Amya, DeTayah, DeTajious, and Jordan. A host of loving nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
