Services for Javon Woody, age 34, will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the Jefferson Junior High School Auditorium.

Javon was born to the union of Teresa Justice and Ellis Woody, Jr on January 17, 1983 in Seattle, WA. He attended school in Washington until they relocated to Jefferson, TX in 1996. He was an avid sports lover and he played basketball for Jefferson High as soon as he began high school. He graduated from Jefferson High School June of 2001. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Army in September 2000. He was in the service for 6 years.

Javon was a lover of people. He did not judge no one no matter what you did. He still loved you unconditionally. He had such a good heart and always had a kind word. However, he was not afraid to speak his mind no matter how you took it. His favorite football team was the Seattle Seahawks. He would argue anyone down about his Seahawks. He loved video games and teaching others how to play or competing against them.

His happiest day was when his daughter Justice Faye was born. In honor of his mother and best friend, he named her after his mom on September 23, 2015.

He leaves to mourn his mother Teresa McNeil; his father Ellis Woody, Jr.; his stepfather, Anthony McNeil; his brother Antonio McNeil; his sister: Elise Woody; his grandmother, Johnny Woody; his uncles: Carl Justice I, Raphiel Justice III, Joaquin Justice and John Woody; his aunts: Kathleen Johnson, Teresa Woody, Bobby Woody, Sylvia Woody and Wynona Justice; sister/cousin Corvette Justice, brother/cousin Earl Rhodes, Jr.; girlfriend, Lartina Middlebrooks; daughters Ranaya Evans and Justice Faye Woody; nieces: Jayda, Stormi, Kensleigh, Braxton, Nhyla, Dior, Kali, and Soleil; nephews: Braxton and Oshay; and his best friends: Joaquin Dixon, Anthony Grigsby, Dwight Wright and Curtis Owens. A host of other cousins, family and friends.

He precedes in death: grandmother, Mercile Justice; grandfather, Raphiel Justice II and Ellis Ray Woody, Sr.; uncle Charles Ray Justice; and, aunts Patricia Justice and Daphne Justice.
