Janice Davis Hicks was born October 26, 1963 to James H. Davis, Sr. and Rosie L. Davis and passed from this earth on August 9, 2017. She worked at East Texas Council of Governments "ETCOG" for four and a half years.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, James H. Davis Sr. and Rosie L. Davis; brother, John H. Spencer.

She leaves to cherish her memory, children, Kadejra Davis of Longview, Texas and Raymeon Hicks (Deshiya Lawson) of Tyler, Texas; granddaughter, Paris Hicks of Tyler, Texas; sister, Roylene Jackson of Dallas, Texas; brother, James H. Davis, Jr. of Dallas, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Services for Janice Davis Hicks will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Jefferson.  Burial will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery, under the direction of Lewis & Walker Funeral Home in Jefferson.  She will lie in state from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
