Obituary
Mr. James Louis “Jabo” Johnson was born on December
18, 1950 to Charlie Robert Johnson and Ruby Johnson
Jetum. Mr. James attended a public school where he
graduated in Chicago, Illinois. James was a Soul Train
dancer.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Charlie Robert and
mother, Ruby Mae Johnson; two brothers, Charles Johnson
and Robert Johnson; and his sister, Merier Johnson.
James leaves to cherish his memory, the love of his life, his
wife of 19 years, Joyce Craver Johnson; of Jefferson,
Texas; three brothers, Tommy (Lisa) Johnson and Jessie
Johnson of Jefferson, Texas, Antoine Pierre (Latosha)
Johnson of South Carolina; two bonus brothers, Ricky Dale
Johnson of Jefferson, Texas and Edward Drumgal of
Marshall, Texas; two special friends, Brenda Carr and Betty
Smith of Jefferson, Texas; and a host of uncles, aunts,
nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Services for James "Jabo" Johnson, 73, of Jefferson, Texas are 1:00pm Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the Jefferson Junior High School Auditorium under the direction of Lewis & Walker Funeral Home of Jefferson, Texas and burial will follow afterwards at Kellyville Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday February 23, 2024 from 11:00am until 5:00pm at Lewis & Walker Funeral Home.
Jabo was born December 18, 1950 and transitioned February 14, 2024 at Christus Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview, Texas.
Jabo was 73 years old.
