Felix Love

Felix Love Sr. was born in Lodi, Texas on January 17, 1936 to the

parentage of Sam and Exie Ree Love. He was one of twelve children born

into this union. Felix departed this life for his heavenly home on

Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Christus St. Michael’s Hospital in

Texarkana, Texas. His memory lives on in all those that knew him.

Felix began his academic school life at Perfection School in Kildare, Texas

at an early age. He later attended Fairview School in Linden Texas for a

period of time after which he left school to go to work. He worked for CD

Weaver hauling logs then went to work for Woods Logging company. He worked

For the railroad and later started his own logging business. He worked

this business faithfully until his health no longer allowed him to do so.

 Felix professed his faith in God at an early age and attended Church of God in Lodi, Texas. He

later became a member of Shady Grove Church of Christ in Judea, Texas

where he was a faithful member until his transition.

Felix was united in holy matrimony with Lessie Mae Young on August

20, 1955 and to this union seven children were born. He later joined in

holy matrimony to Maggie Marie Hines on November 8, 1967 and to this

union three children were born. 

Felix was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Exie Ree Love,

his brothers, Calvin Love, Sam Exie Love, Marrel “Shorty” Love, Elmer Love,

Lawrence Love and Anthony “Tony” Love, his sisters Clotheal Love-Price,

Sammie Kay Love, Nettie Ree Love-Butler and Mary Love-Green and son,

Raymond Love.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 53 years Maggie Marie Love,

four daughters; Sammie Love, Teresa Thomas (Ernest), Chiquita Love and

Angela Love Blanton (James); five boys Robert Love (Martha), Alex Love (Linder),

Phillip Love (Lynette), Darrel Love (Camesha) and Felix Love Jr. (Jada)

One sister Harriet Love-Terrell (Harold); special niece Lois Love,

special nephew Gerald “Champ” Love, special cousins; Carolyn Love-Hodge,

Shirley Love-Hodge and Henry Louis Love; special friend, Calvin Ramsey; twenty-three grandchildren,

14 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and

friends.

Services for Mr. Felix Love, 84, of Lodi, Texas will be held for FAMILY & CLOSE FRIENDS on January 2, 2021 at Shady Grove Church of Christ in Jefferson, Texas at 11:00 am

Public visitation will be Friday January 1, 2021 from 11:00am until 5:00 pm at  Lewis & Walker Funeral Home.
