Evelyn Bridget Jackson Martinez was born on February 16, 1962 in Houston, Tx to the late Willie J. Jackson and Evelyn Brown Jackson. After the passing of her mother, her father Willie met and married Ann Harris Jackson and together they raised 4 children. At an early age, Evelyn accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Lilly Grove Baptist Church under the Pastoral leadership of Pastor Willie Powell.
Evelyn attended school in Houston ISD and graduated from Sharpstown High School class of 1980. Evelyn went on to pursue her education at Panola Junior College graduating in 1984 as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. During her college years, Evelyn met and later married George Martinez and to this union a baby boy was born George Eugene Martinez.
Evelyn later went on to unite with Southwest Community Center (The Bridge) under the leadership of Pastor Patrick and later moved to Higher Dimension Church under the Pastoral leadership of Terrance Johnson.
Evelyn dedicated her career as an LVN for 35 years to nursing homes in Houston, Tx, and later after relocating to East Texas, she continued her career until her health begin to fail.
While in East Texas, Evelyn united with Church on Purpose under the leadership of Pastor Eric and Katrina Love.
Evelyn never met a stranger and enjoyed cooking, traveling (with hopes of one day cruising to Jamaica) and spending time with family as well as close friends that she dearly loved as family. No matter what obstacles Evelyn faced, she always saw the brighter side of things.
Evelyn departed this life on Monday, October 11, 2021. Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents Willie J. and Evelyn Jackson, her brother Charles Session and the mother that raised her Ann Jackson.
Those left to be comforted by the Holy spirit includes: One son, George Eugene Martinez, Siblings: Emil Stephen Jackson, Fred Session Jr., Staci Toliver, Samuel Harris Jr., Shelia Cunningham, aunts, uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Memorial Services for Evelyn Jackson-Martinez,59, of Longview, will be held at Lewis & Walker Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 2:00pm.
Evelyn was born February 16, 1962 and passed away October 11, 2021.
