Eddie Monroe Adams, Sr.

Eddie Monroe Adams, Sr. was born on August 26, 1941, in Kellyville, Texas, to Eddie D. Adams and Retha Dunn. He was the second of nine children, raised in a large and loving family that shaped his strong values and work ethic.

Eddie accepted Christ at an early age and served faithfully as a Deacon at Enon Baptist Church in Jefferson, Texas. His commitment to his faith and church family remained steadfast throughout his life.

He graduated from Central High School in 1959 and went on to enlist in the United States Army on September 7, 1960, serving in the Regular Army Infantry. During his military service, he was assigned to C/S Company, 1st Battle Group, 12th Infantry, 6th Infantry Division at Fort Lewis, Washington. He also held membership in the Bruce Masonic Lodge #154.

Eddie dedicated many years of service to Texas Utilities Mining Company, where he worked diligently until his retirement. He believed in hard work and took great pride in providing for his family.

On Tuesday morning, April 21, 2026, After Eddie answered the Master’s call and entered eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie D and Retha Timmins; two sisters, Julia Roberts and JoAnn Faggett; three brothers, Cleophaus Durden, Lawrence Timmins, and Arthur Timmins; and one son, Eurun Moore.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Clara Adams, with whom he shared 38 years of marriage. His legacy continues through his children: Reginald Ratcliff of Houston, Texas; Yolanda Hester of Kilgore, Texas; Eddie Adams, Jr. of Jefferson, Texas; Kristala (Carlos) Evans of Longview, Texas; Kimberly McDonald of Jefferson, Texas; and Nicholas (Crystal) McDonald of Virginia.

He is also survived by his siblings: Richard (Ann) Durden of Marshall, Texas; Marilyn Benavides of Dallas, Texas; and Zephaniah (Glenda) Timmins of Marshall, Texas; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Eddie will be remembered for his unwavering faith, dedication to family, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in all who knew and loved him.

Services for Mr. Eddie Monroe Adams, Sr., 84, of Jefferson, Tx, will be 11:00am Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Judea Baptist Church in Jefferson, Texas, with burial following ant Kellyville Cemetery afterwards.  

Mr. Adams was born August 26, 1941, and transitioned April 21, 2026, surrounded by beloved family and friends. 
Mr. Adams was 84 years old, and he will be missed by everyone that knew him.
