Dissie Faye (Grant) Willis

Dissie Faye Grant was born March 16, 1961 in Lodi, Texas to Corine Zachery and Woodrow Grant, Sr., who preceded her in death. She graduated from Linden Kildare High School in Linden, Texas. She married Michael Walker. To this union two children were born, Euricka Marie Walker and Brittanya Lashaye Walker. 

She prayed along side her spouse, Dwight Samuels, for last 22 years, at the Christian Fellowship Center in Queen City, Texas.  

She worked for Forty Seven years as a cook. She cooked at the Linden Fuel Center in Linden, Texas until her health failed. 

Her memories will be cherished by her sisters and brothers; Alice Faye Newman (Larry), J.D. Grant, Herles Grant (Mary), Dorothy Ann Grissom (Nathanial), Shirley Ruth Wright, all of whom preceded her in death.

Her brothers Ricky Grant (Debra), Melvin Grant (Yolanda), Tracey Grant (LaSonja), Woodrow Grant, Jr. Gloria Bridges, and Leroy Bridges will help keep her legacy alive. 

She also leaves to mourn her passing, her spouse, Dwight Samules, her nieces, nephews, and grandbabies, Jakevian Smith, Jakylin Walker, NaSyiah, Terriana and Zakariah McHenry, all of Texarkana, Texas. 

Graveside Service for Dessie Willis, 62, of Linden, Texas will be held 11:00am Friday, December 8, 2023 at Lewis Chapel Cemetery in Lodi, Texas under the direction of Lewis & Walker Funeral Home of Jefferson, Texas.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Reeder Davis Funeral Home in Linden, Texas from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. 

Dessie was born March 16, 1961 and transitioned November 28, 2023 in Texarkana, Texas.

Dessie was 62 years old.
