With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Carolyn Deloras Douglas, affectionately known throughout the Jefferson community as “Black Cat.” Carolyn, 67, of Jefferson, Texas, transitioned from this life on June 6, 2026.
Carolyn was born on October 17, 1958. She was well known and loved by many in her hometown, where her warm spirit and familiar presence earned her the affectionate nickname “Black Cat.” She found joy in watching Matt Dillon, preparing meals for family and friends, and reading her Bible daily. Her faith, kindness, and unique personality left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her three children: Kendrick Douglas of Plano, Texas; Keynon Douglas of Jefferson, Texas; and Katarra Douglas of Balch Springs, Texas.
She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren: Breanna, Kendra, JoJo, Qualyn, Tyries, and Ma’Ryah, all of whom brought great joy to her life.
Carolyn is also survived by her beloved siblings: Patricia Perkins, Georgie Bell, Linda Bell, James Perkins, and Royce Douglas, along with numerous other relatives, friends, and loved ones who will forever treasure her memory.
Though Carolyn’s presence will be deeply missed, her love, faith, and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
