Callisse Sharrette Hooks, 39, of Texarkana, Texas, transitioned peacefully on November 30, 2024, at Christus St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana. Born to Sharon Williams and Otis Hooks on April 25, 1985, Callisse was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend whose vibrant spirit and devotion to family touched all who knew her.

Callisse attended Texas High School and went on to achieve her Master’s Degree in Business Administration, a testament to her determination and dedication to learning. Above all, she cherished her role as a mother to her son, Charles Brown, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond filled with joy and unconditional love.

She is deeply missed by her loving mother, Sharon Williams (Melvyn); her siblings, Laquita Pryor (Mark), Dennis Foxx (Shaun), and Sylvia Foxx; her son, Charles Brown; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Callisse was preceded in death by her father, Otis Hooks, whose memory she honored throughout her life.

Callisse's life will be celebrated on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas. Burial will follow at Nash Cemetery in Texarkana, with a repast to be held at the church.

Pallbearers will be the esteemed Masons: Kenneth Wrighter, Thomas Jacobs, Tyrone Corbin, Henry Loudermilk, Rodney Watson, Lonnie Adams, Jivara Arnett, and Cleo Neal, with Willious Jordan serving as an honorary pallbearer.

Callisse leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched.

Services for Callisse Sharrette Hooks, 39, of Texarkana, Texas will be 11:00am Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas under the direction of Lewis & Walker Funeral Home of Jefferson, Texas and burial will follow at Nash Cemetery in Texarkana.

Callisse was born April 25, 1985, and transitioned November 30, 2024, in Texarkana, Texas.

Ms. Hooks was 39 years old.
