C'Lester L. Webb

We remember C’Lester Louis Webb  

  Mr. Webb was born on February 1, 1933 in Gilliam, Louisiana to Theodore Roosevelt Webb and Essie M. Scott.  He was proceeded in death by his mother and father and a son, Ronnie C. Webb.  C’Lester was the youngest of five children. 

Two brothers, Eddie and Leroy along with two sisters, Mary and Dorothy proceeded him in death. 

C’Lester served in the United States Army for 21 years 3 months and 7 days.  He was a Vietnam Veteran.  During his service he earned enormous commendations and awards.  

He joined Starlight COGIC and became a Deacon.  C’Lester Webb was there for three years until his Heavenly Father called him home.  

C’Lester was united in Holy Matrimony to Simmie L. Webb in 1951 and to this union five children were born. Two sons, Ronnie C. Webb (deceased), Reginal V. Webb (Sheila) of Tyler, Texas. Three daughters, Cassandra F. Butler of Dallas, Texas, Wanda Ervin (Calvin) of Linden, Texas, and Angela Friday of Jefferson, Texas.  Three godchildren, Fannie Owens, Charles Webb, both of Jefferson, Texas, and Ricky Webb (deceased). Twenty five grand children , thirty five great grand children, and ten great, great grand children.  

C’Lester later united in Holy matrimony in 1977 to Bessie Barco for thirty nine years.  He and she both were members of Friendship Baptist Church for more than forty years.  C’Lester was also proceeded in death by his second wife Bessie. 

C’Lester served as a Mason as a Worhipful Master for a number of years and the Eastern Star where he served as a Worthy Patron. Mr. Webb transitioned on Sunday, October 17, 2021 and was called home by his Heavenly Father to come home and rest. 

Funeral services for Mr. C'Lester L. Webb, 88, of Linden, Texas will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 3:00pm at the Jefferson Junior High School Auditorium under the direction of Lewis & Walker Funeral Home and burial will follow at Judea Cemetery in Jefferson. 

Repast will be at the Jefferson Junior High School Cafeteria. 

A public visitation will be held Friday October 22, 2021 from 11:00am until 5:00pm at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Webb was born February 1, 1933 and passed away on October 17, 2021.
