Bradford Antonio "Tony" Jones was the sixth child born to the late Willie and Norma Jean Jones on February 10, 1966 in Jefferson, Texas, where he graduated from Jefferson High School in 1984. In 1985, he applied at West Point United States Military Academy in New York and was accepted but elected to continue his career locally. He would enter the workforce as an auto mechanic and later on as an industrial worker at General Cable in Marshall, Texas for 12 years, until he became ill. He loved spending time with his family, especially his daughter, nieces and nephews. He was a man with a kind and gentle spirit who loved the Lord and he as a wonderful, caring, and loving brother.
His hobbies were playing baseball, basketball, and working on anything that had an engine.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Jean Jones and father, Willie Jones, Jr.
In God's care, he leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Zipporah Jones; two sisters, Catherine Johnson (Larry) of Virginia and Vickie Maybank (Stephen) of Tennessee; four brothers, Ralph Jones (Gerald), Robert Jones (Hirut-Kidane), Gregory Jones, all of Virginia, and Willie Maurice Jones (Rhonda) of Jefferson, Texas; sixteen nieces and nephews; an uncle, Clarence Bonner (Mildred); and a host of loving relatives and special friends.
Services for Mr. Jones will be 11:00 a.m. February 22, 2020 at Jefferson Junior High School. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery under the direction of Lewis & Walker Funeral Home. Mr. Jones will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
