A Memorial Tribute for Mr. Billy James Maxie, 71, of Jefferson, Texas will be Thursday April 16, 2020 from 11:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M at Lewis & Walker Funeral Home of Jefferson, Texas.
Billy James Maxie of Jefferson, Texas went home to paradise on Friday, April 10th 2020.
Billy, affectiously know as "Steel Bill", was born in Cass County to the late Frank and Lee Helen McIntosh Maxie. He attended and graduated Central High School in Jefferson.
He attended Lewis Chapel and was baptized at an early age. He professed his love for our Lord and Saviour until his death.
In 1971, he united in marriage to Maragret Ann Coley.
Billy was a very hard worker. He spent the majority of his years in the timber and logging business. He enjoyed playing dominoes, and was a faithful fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He loved spending time with his family and reminiscing about days long ago. He was a very generous, but humble person. His smile was infectious.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Billy James Maxie, Jr.
He is survived by his wife and friend, Margaret Ann Maxie; four daughters, Sharon Maxie - Jones (Steve), Rita Thompson, Shwanna Hodge (Dean), and Tonia Maxie; ten grandchildren, Audrey, Kirsten, Alexis, Tara, Izaisha, Jerome, Jada, Jasmine, Kinnidy, and A.J; 5 great-grandchildren, Makenzi, Kamari, Nasir, Kristian, Kane.
He is also survived by a very special lifetime friend and confidant, Mr. Frank Hodge, of Jefferson, Texas.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Hazin of CSMH of Texarkana, Magnolia Place of Jefferson, TX, and Mr. Ricky Grant his caregiver.
