Aurna Rene (Hiner) Dunn was born on May 1, 1944 in Marion County to the parentage of Mr. Samuel Hiner and Mrs. Fannie Hall (Henderson). She was the second born twin. She attended Victory High in Avinger, Texas. She loved music, playing cards, and most of all playing dominoes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Carlos Dunn; one sister, Addie Lene (Hiner) Wash; and one granddaughter, Raquel (Tay Tay) Hiner.
Aurna leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Sumikos Dunn (Timothy) of Marshall, Texas; son, Joshua Smith (Donna) of Texarkana, Texas; sisters, Nadean Hiner of Texarkana, Texas, Faye (Henderson) Sanders of Waco, Texas; brother, Ralph Henderson, Sr. of Longview, Texas; 13 grandchildren, Summer Smith, Darius Sims, DeQuavus Dunn, Deadrian Gordon, DeNiquez Dunn, DeCarlos Dunn, Carloshea Dunn, Catayshia (Omar) Alvarado, Jaycie Smith, Baleigh Smith, Falonzia Craver, Falicia Craver Cequouia Dunn; two great-grandchildren, Vincent Tillman III, Visari Sims; one aunt; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends; as well as several special friends that she met along the way.
Services for Aurna Dunn, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Pyland Cemetery under the direction of Lewis & Walker Funeral Home of Jefferson, Texas. Ms. Dunn will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
