Memorial Services for Mr. Altonia "Skip" Parker will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 1:00pm at Galloway Cemetery in Kildare, Texas.
Al was born April 22, 1954 to the parents: Samuel and Irene Parker. He united with Berean Baptist Church at an early age. Graduating from Jefferson High School in 1972, he joined the Military Air Force Branch in 1973. It was during his early military career that he earned the nickname "Skip" and it stuck, which he preferred, to Altonia. Al was a loyal Dallas Cowboys Fan since day one of their franchise, win lose, up or down, he remained a true Cowboys Fan. He met and married Christina "Chris" in New York in 1987.
Al retired in 1994, after 20 years of service, including a tour of duty during the Desert Storm Crisis, also in Saudi Arabia as a civilian in 1995. On retiring Al and Chris enjoyed traveling. When not traveling they enjoyed the quiet countryside living in Landstuhl, Germany.
Both parents and two siblings, Dorothy and Clarice preceedes him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife Christina Parker of Lanndstuhl, Germany, three sisters; Betty martin (Earl), Sammie Jenkins (Rufus), of Jefferson, Texas, and Bernice Harrell (Jerry) of Dallas, Texas. Nephews: Samuel Parker (Toyia), Jerrod Harrell, William Martin (Teri), Randall Jenkins, and Vincent Brown (Olivia). Nieces: Valarie Parker and Adrienne Brown. Three Aunts: Susie "Auntie Sister" Hines, Bertha Parker, and Ruthetta Matthews (Eddie),
Special Brother/Sisters forever ; Maurice (Joyce) Brown, Claudie Mae Rose, Gloria Beckham, Brenda Wash Porch, Richard and Jean Johnson, and a host of special cousins, grand nieces, nephews, and friends.
