Mrs. Alicia Lynette Lang Montgomery, known to many as “Nette”, was born in Jefferson Texas on March 10, 1964, through the lineage of the late James Lang and Melvin Loretta Edwards Lang. She grew up in a loving and caring family raised by her aunt, Precious Yancy of Jefferson, Texas from the age of 5 years old. She graduated from Jefferson High School, Class of 1982. Alicia attended BMI, in Longview Texas were she received her Business and Secretarial Certification. Alicia dedicated many years working in the insurance and healthcare industry.
At an early age Alicia received Christ as her personal lord and savior. She attended Good Connor Goodwill United Methodist Church of Harleton Texas. After moving to Mesquite, she united with Mt. Hebron Baptist Church of Garland Texas. Alicia was not just a member, but she was a dedicated and loyal worker until her health declined.
Alicia was a loving and devoted wife. She married her high school sweetheart Jerry Mitch Montgomery, and to this union two children were born; Mitchell O’Brien & Aaleyah Michelle. Out of all of her achievements in this life, her greatest accomplishment was loving and caring for her family.
Alicia was so full of love and had no limit to the amount of kindness that she would bestow upon others. She loved to cook, bake, decorate, fish and shop, especially at thift stores and garage sales.
On Tuesday, May 9, 2023, Alicia quietly and peacefully departed this earthly life at the age of 59. As she walked into that beautiful light she was welcomed by her parents, and grandparents.
Fond memories will be treasured by her devoted husband of 36 years, Jerry Mitchell Montgomery; one son, Mitchell Obrien Montgomery and one daughter, Aaleyah Michelle Montgomery, all of Mesquite,Texas; one aunt, Precious Yancy of Jefferson,Texas; two uncles, Melvin Lang of Houston, Texas and Garvis Mosley of Jefferson,Texas; brother/cousin, William Seals of Jefferson, Texas, special cousin/friend; Dr. Robin Cole of Birmingham, Alabama; mother in law, Alice Montgomery of Lone Star,Texas, and sister in law; Angela Brown, one niece; Davina Wilson, two great nieces, and one great nephew all of Tyler, Texas and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services for Alicia Lynette Montgomery, 59, of Mesquite, Texas will be 11:00am Saturday, May 20, 2023 at the Jefferson Junior High School Auditorium under the direction of Lewis & Walker Funeral Home of Jefferson, Texas and burial will be at Mt. Pilgram Baptist Cemetery in Avinger, Texas.
Mrs. Montgomery was born March 10, 1964 and transitioned peacefully May 9, 2023 at Medical City Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
Alicia was 59 years old.
