Mrs. Mattie Pearl Green Jernigan was born December 16, 1947, in Marion County, Texas, to Mr. and Mrs. Jesse James and Everlean English Green. She attended Marion County Public Schools.
Mattie Pearl was a God-Fearing woman. She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at an early age. As a child, she loved to play the piano with her mother and singing with her siblings. She even instilled her love of music into her children, her legacy they will carry on forever.

In 1976, she joined the Full Gospel Holy Temple under the leadership of Bishop Larry Kiel. In 1984, she moved her family to Houston, Texas, where she remained until the end of her life. She had an outgoing personality and loved working with people, so she retired from Goodwill Industries in the early 2000’s.
Awaiting her arrival are her beloved parents; Mr. and Mrs. Jessie and Everlean English Green, siblings; Nelly Douglas, James Green, Ella Fortner, Rosie Lewis, Mildred Cooper, Frankie Green, Bertha Green Johnson, Children; baby Sample and Victor Knighton.
