Life’s Journey
Her beginning: Lucille Noble Guinn was born to the parentage of Frank L. Noble and Eliza (Lizella) Waites Noble, on May 2, 1921, in Marion County, Texas. They preceded her in death. She had 3 brothers: Essie L. Noble, Lemuel Noble, and Early Noble, 5 sisters: Lady Bird Walker, Clestha Noble, Leotha McIntosh, Vary Lee Alexander, and Ella Mae Thomas, all preceded her on death.
Her Childhood:
Lucille grew up in Marion County, Texas and attended school at Gethsemane School during her stay with her sister in Vivian, Louisiana. She attended New Hope School. She later moved back home to care for her mother and continued her education at Gethsemane School.
Her Christian Encounter:
Lucille accepted Christ and joined New Hope Baptist Church at an early age where she sang in the choir and carried out various other tasks. Later in life, she became a Pastor’s wife and faithful servant at Gethsemane United Methodist Church until it’s closure in the early 2000’s. After prayerful consideration, she joined the Under The Light Ministries, where she loved to worship, sing and was a servant until her health failed.
The Marital Status:
She united in Holy Matrimony to Rev. McHenry Guinn on January 14, 1953. To this union one child, a daughter, was born. Rev. McHenry Guinn preceded her in death in 1986. She was a wife, homemaker, mother, friend, and avid fisherman, and one who loved Jesus Christ. Her earthly pilgrimage ended March 11, 2024.
Her Legacy:
She leaves to cherish her memory, one loving daughter: Maxine Guinn Taylor, a loving son: Kalvin Taylor, 6 grandchildren whom she loved: Kalvin Taylor, Jr., Winston Taylor, April & Julius Williams, and Krystal & Johnny Sterling, 2 great grandsons whom she adored: Xavier and Christian Sterling.
She had a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. 2special daughters: Robin and Carla and a very special nephew, Melvin, who would always come to her when she called.
Services for Mrs. Lucille Guinn will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Under the Light Ministries in Jefferson, Texas (Gethsemane) and burial will be held immediately afterwards at Core Cemetery in Smithland, Texas.
Mrs. Guinn was born May 2, 1921, and transitioned March 11, 2024, at her home surrounded by beloved family.
Mrs. Guinn was 102 years old.
