A partner, stepfather, grandfather, and friend. He was the son of the late Clay Smith, Sr., and Mable L. Smith on March 29, 1961, in Jefferson, Texas.
Brian accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Berean Baptist Church. Brian received his formal education at Central High School in Jefferson, Texas. After graduation he joined the Army National Guard.
Brian departed this life on Saturday, March 9, 2024. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Mable Smith, his sister, Sylvia Smith-Parker, his father, Clay Smith, Sr., and his brothers Curtis Smith, and Clay Smith, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his partner, Nanette Caldwell, four brothers: Alphonso (Elva) Smith, Derrick (Freda) Smith, and Terry (Theressa) Smith, his sister: Clarice Rose, his children: Gerald Smith, Kendrick (Tara) Carter, and Chassenie Jefferson, his granddaughters: Asiah Smith, Haley Smith, Mar’Khia Jefferson, and Kaija Carter, his grandsons: Ken’Morieon Carter, Kendrick Carter, Jr., and Kingston Carter.
Services for Brian Keith Smith, 62, of Longview, Texas, are 11:00am Saturday March16, 2024 at Lewis & Walker Funeral Home of Jefferson, Texas.
Brian was born March 29, 1961, and transitioned March 9, 2024, at Christus Good Shepherd in Longview, Texas surrounded by beloved family.
Brian was 62 years old.
